Also,, we will explore the tele-triage process, examining the various methods through which it can be conducted, from online platforms to phone and video calls. We will also discuss the software and standards involved in tele-triage, ensuring that patient data is handled securely and in compliance with regulations such as HIPAA. By the end of this course, participants will be better prepared to navigate the complexities of telehealth, providing high-quality care while ensuring patient safety and privacy.

INTRODUCTION

In the ever-evolving landscape of healthcare, telemedicine and telehealth services have emerged as indispensable tools for healthcare professionals, particularly in the field of telenursing. These technologies enable remote patient care, consultation, and monitoring, offering unprecedented flexibility and accessibility. However, the successful implementation of telehealth in nursing practice relies heavily on effective communication strategies and a comprehensive understanding of the unique challenges and considerations associated with this mode of care.

GENERAL AIM

The general aim of this course is to empower telenurses and healthcare practitioners with the knowledge and skills necessary to deliver effective and safe care through telehealth platforms. Participants will gain a deep understanding of communication strategies, the challenges and barriers associated with telehealth, and the vital aspects of patient assessment and monitoring in a remote setting. By addressing these core areas, this course aims to enhance the quality of care provided through telehealth services.

OBJECTIVES

1.      Active Listening, Reflective Listening, and Empathic Listening in Telenursing:

·       Understand the principles of active, reflective, and empathic listening.

·       Apply these listening techniques to build rapport and trust with remote patients.

·       Demonstrate effective communication through active engagement in telehealth interactions.

2.      Communication Using Technology – Challenges and Barriers in Telenursing:

·       Identify common challenges and barriers associated with telehealth communication.

·       Explore technological solutions and strategies to overcome communication obstacles.

·       Enhance the ability to adapt communication styles to suit various telehealth platforms.

3.      Safety and Privacy in Telenursing:

·       Recognize the importance of patient safety and privacy in telehealth.

·       Implement protocols and best practices to safeguard patient information.

·       Navigate legal and ethical considerations specific to telehealth interactions.

4.      Tele-triage

·       Understand the concept of triage

·       Explore tele-triage Methods
